Dillard Notables of 2021: #4 Coach Nile and his very fast teams

September 1, 2020, Dillard University hired Nile Legania as the head coach for cross country and track and field. In 16 months, he has taken over the NAIA track universe.

In his first track and field season, the Dillard women placed second in the GCAC championships.

In his first track and field season, the Dillard men placed first in the GCAC championships.

In his first track and field season, the Dillard men’s 4 X 100 won the NAIA National Championship.

In his first full cross country season, the Dillard women won their first ever GCAC championship.

In his first full cross country season, the Dillard men won their first ever GCAC championship.

In his first track and field season, Coach Legania was named GCAC men’s coach of the year.

In his first full cross country season, Coach Legania was named GCAC men’s and women’s coach of the year.

Along with our new volleyball coach, I named him co-newcomer of the year for Dillard in 2021.

So here is the 16-month resume for track and field.
