All Kids Need Experiences Like This
My 11 year old is experiencing Duke TIP this week. The program is geared toward gifted students, and I am glad she is having this experience. The kids are in teams to address a crisis- this year they are dealing with a pandemic flu. Lydia’s group is the broadcast journalism & print media aspect of addressing the crisis.
You can watch her do her introductory interview of a classmate. I always lament when I see experiences like this because there are SO MANY kids that could benefit from a similar, go away camp. It reminded me of an NPR story on the Fresh Air Camp for New York City kids. We need more opportunities like this.
